Vectran

Vectran™ is a synthetically produced high-tech fiber with a natural model. Like spider silk, Vectran™ is a liquid-crystalline polymer (LCP). Vectran™ is spun from the molten liquid polymer Vectra and further processed into a multi-fiber yarn. Spider silk and Vectran™ have enormous tensile strength at a minimal weight. Exactly the right properties to be processed into a top Continental tire as a puncture protection insert. A Vectran™ Breaker is lighter, more flexible and protects more effectively against cuts than comparable nylon breakers. The Vectran™ Breaker does not affect rolling resistance.

Note: For tubeless installation, Tubeless Ready tires require tubeless-compatible rims/wheels, tubeless valves, tubeless rim tape, and sealant. Puncture sealant is not necessary for UST Tubeless tires, but is recommended due to the increased puncture protection. Installing tubeless tires is not always easy and should only be done by qualified personnel.
