The legendary MTB groupset is once again ready to set the standard for mountain bikers around the world. For almost three decades, Deore XT has been synonymous with durability, reliability, and proven performance. As mountain biking gets faster and terrain gets more technical, it's the job of the M8100 components to give riders the confidence they need to perform at their best.

In typical Shimano fashion, the Deore XT also features innovations from the high-end XTR parts. As a result, Micro Spline and Hyperglide+ are on board with the new 12-speed groupset.

Easy and clean maintenance is ensured by the proven One Way Bleeding and theEasy Hose Joint System, which significantly simplifies the replacement of brake hoses.

With brake systems with J-Kit hose connection, the brake lever has an integrated pressure seal (olive), which makes the overall installation and removal of the brake hose much easier.

Shimano Deore XT BL-M8100 brake lever

The clamp of the Shimano Deore XT BL-M8100 brake lever is angled, so the outer end of the reservoir is intelligently supported directly on the handlebar. The two contact points created in this way provide significantly more stiffness, which ultimately also leads to more direct feedback and thus more braking power.

Shimano's SERVOWAVE technology, which ensures particularly good dosage, also serves to improve braking performance. Because the brake lever takes up a lot of braking travel at the beginning of its movement, the brake pads come into contact with the brake disc more quickly and more lever travel remains to modulate the braking force. As a result, SERVO WAVE braking systems are characterized by faster response, higher performance and shorter free travel.

The BL-M8100 is 10% stiffer than its predecessor, even at high temperatures. The grip width of the brake lever is directly adjustable without additional tools. Thanks to the I-Spec EV construction, the Deore XT SL-M8100-I shift levers can be mounted directly on the brake lever.

Shimano Deore XT BR-M8120 disc brake caliper

The Shimano Deore XT BR-M8120 postmount brake caliper with its 4-piston construction is ideal for trail and enduro. Due to an accelerated resetting of the pistons, the modulation behavior could be improved once again compared to the predecessor, which results in better brake control. Resin N03A or metal N04C brake pads with Ice-Tech cooling fins ensure extremely good deceleration in combination with the powerful 4-piston caliper. In addition, the 4-piston design reduces brake disc vibration noise and increases braking power by 10% compared to the BR-M8020 caliper.
